Estates and Consignments Fine Art Liquidations
This is an especially exquisite and attention-getting piece worthy of being in a museum. This large and impressive work of art is being sold to settle a very large estate. It came from a wealthy family’s stately home. It may or may not be a museum de-accession. It has significant authenticity-suggesting certificates verso from Galleries Lafayette and Gallerie de France.
The family owners and their guests may have thought this piece to be an authentic Klimt and worth millios but neither we nor the executor can authenticate it because memories have faded, invoices and receipts were long ago lost, the generations of owners and the artist have died, and the galleries closed. The estate must be closed. It is, accordingly, being sold for thousands instead of millions.
Estates and Consignment Fine Art are agents; neither we nor the estate’s executor warrant anything about this piece or the certificates, stamps, letters, receipts, authentications, and descriptions accompanying it. To best of our knowledge this piece has not yet been forensically analyzed.
Shipping is free to any US address if you pay the consignor’s suggested price. Buyer pays shipping if consignor accepts a lower price. Shipping will be by UPS ground.
