Kafanov is a living artist known for his imaginative paintings (and for doing such work as the album cover for the Smashing Pumpkins rock band.)  We have verified with him that this is an original piece and consider it to be a work with investment potential.  

This impressive work of art is being sold to settle an estate.   It came from a wealthy family’s great Arizona stately home.  It may or may not be a museum de-accession.  The owners and their guests may have thought it real but neither we nor the executor can authenticate it because memories fade, invoices are lost, owners and artists die, and galleries close.  This piece has not been forensically analyzed and we do not warrant its authenticity or value.

Estates and Consignment Fine Art are agents; neither we nor the consignor warrant anything about this piece or the certificates, stamps, letters, authentications, and descriptions accompanying it.
